Views and downloads on a restricted records is due to visits by the uploader themselves and/or persons the uploader have shared the record with through e.g. access links and or community inclusions. Files that are previewed also count as a download because most previewers access the file directly.
Files in a restricted records are only accessible:
- by the user who uploaded the record
- by members of communities the record is part of
- by other users that have been explicitly granted access by the uploader (e.g. through a secret link)
- by Zenodo staff (strictly only for professional duties which include e.g. resolution of problems and detection of misuse - see https://about.zenodo.org/infrastructure/#security for details).
