Our primary mission is to support the long tail of science, and our goal is to accept as many research outputs into Zenodo as possible while keeping the service free. We therefore have quotas on data volume we accept per record, but not on the number of records/communities you can create as different disciplines have very different usage patterns.
Fair usage - get in touch
Even if we do not have quotas on the number of records/communities you can create, we do expect all our users to apply fair usage of Zenodo.
Examples of what we do not consider fair usage:
- Dividing a single large dataset into many records to circumvent the 50GB upload limit.
- Uploading very large number of records (independent of data volume).
-
Uploading content where the main purpose is indexing/archiving/promotion (e.g. promotion of products, services, reviews, tutorials, researcher CVs).
If in doubt please get in touch with us to get an upfront agreement if we consider your use case fair usage.
Per record limitation: 50GB / 100 files
We currently accept up to 50GB per record with a maximum of 100 files. If you have more than 100 files, please consider putting them in a ZIP file.
Quota increases
We grant a one-time quota increase of up to 200GB for a single record. The maximum number of files remains 100.
